Refund Policy
Thank you for being a part of the Shaking Medicine Foundation.
Our foundation offers online courses, subscription-based services as well as in-person events such as classes, workshops, retreats, immersions, and teacher trainings. Our refund policy depends on the nature of the service.
In general, we do not offer refunds as we are a non-profit foundation utilizing any funds to help share Shaking Medicine with more people. There is an exception for our Shaking Medicine Beginners Course since this is our entry-level course. We feel that after this Shaking Medicine Beginners Course, any person who purchases any of our offerings has enough of an understanding of what we offer to not be purchasing something that is completely out of their expectation; therefore we do not offer refunds unless there is an error that is the fault of our Foundation.
In the event of accidental multiple purchases of the same item, we will typically refund the additional accidental purchases minus the fees we were charged to process the accidental multiple purchases.
For our online courses:
Shaking Medicine Beginners Course: "If you aren’t completely satisfied with the course, let us know within the first 14 days for a full refund. No questions asked. After the 14-days no refunds are offered."
Shaking Medicine Intermediate Course: This is a pre-recorded course. No refunds are available.
Shaking Medicine Members Portal: This is a pre-recorded course. No refunds are available.
Polyvagal Masterclass: This is a pre-recorded course. No refunds are available.
Shaking Medicine Private Sessions: This is a live session. Refunds or rescheduling may be available if the fault for the session not happening is on the facilitator and not technical. See the "Technical Issues" section below.
Shaking Medicine Teacher Training: Combination of live sessions and pre-recorded content. No refunds are available. If the fault for missing a scheduled meeting is on the facilitator then the meeting is rescheduled. See the "Technical Issues" section below for what we do in case of technology or infrastructure failure.
For our Subscription-based services:
The user is responsible for cancelling their recurring payments. We do not offer refunds for forgetting to cancel.
As we are a non-profit foundation you may wish to consider maintaining a membership even if you are finished using the site or wish to come back much later, as this is a primary means to help spread this medicine around the world to help people remember this potent instinctive healing mechanism.
Steps to cancel your membership recurring payments:
- Login to your account at www.ShakingMedicine.com.
- Click on your portrait.
- Click on settings.
- Navigate to cancelling your membership.
After you cancel your membership your access to the subscription service will remain active until the end of the period that you have paid for.
For live events such as workshops, retreats, immersions, and teacher trainings:
In general, Shaking Medicine does not offer refunds for events.
If Shaking Medicine must cancel an event for any reason, you may transfer your full payment to another booking, or receive a full refund of your payment.
Shaking Medicine is not responsible for your expenses incurred in preparation for any event for any reason, such as airline tickets, loss of work, and/or other costs associated with preparing for your trip, even if the event was cancelled by the Shaking Medicine Foundation or the facilitator of the event.
Technical Issues: Disclaimer for our live-streamed online events:
In the event that the Shaking Medicine Foundation or someone working on behalf of the Shaking Medicine Foundation is performing a live-streamed online event and there are technical issues such as but not limited to internet blackouts, power blackouts, equipment failure, etc. that disrupt the event for a significant portion of that event, then the event will either be rescheduled and/or a recording will be sent out to attendees to cover the content that was missed. We would aim to reschedule the event at a time that suits most of the participants.
