Prerequisites
It is important to already be embodied in this. This is deep trauma-healing work. Ideally we want you to go through the biggest waves of that before this journey. If those waves arrive during the training, there is not much spaciousness left for the training itself — it becomes about your healing process, which is amazing, and it is still best to have done that growth before stepping into the facilitator’s role. If you have not already, start now.

Dr. Keith R. Motes
Keith founded Shaking Medicine after spontaneous therapeutic tremoring released childhood trauma still living in his body. That rebirthing became a lifelong devotion: making this ancient mechanism safe, teachable, and available again.
He trains facilitators to hold the work with creativity and care. The curriculum is IICT-approved and keeps evolving from indigenous shaking cultures, Yogic and Taoist arts, modern somatics, and what we learn by training teachers worldwide.

How Do I Apply?

Do I Need Teaching Experience Or Another Qualification?
No. This is a standalone training. We look for the Shaking Medicine Beginners and Intermediate Course (ideally done well in advance), genuine passion, and a good fit on the call. Previous teaching is helpful, never required.
What Do I Actually Have To Complete To Be Certified?
Live meetings, embodied practice with journaling, theory videos plus assessment, seven practice classes (the seventh filmed for feedback), your teacher profile for the directory, and the Beginners and Intermediate Course if not already done. Aim for four months (plus a grace month). We guide you. It is thorough, not harsh.
