“Indigenous wisdom knows that 'to live is to move'; to awaken from our deep slumber means our bones will be rattled, and we'll be shaken to the core. In this invitation into very ancient medicine, we hear the voices of the elders issuing a timely wakeup call, accessible to the modern world through Bradford Keeney, their brother and representative in the west.”
MALIDOMA PATRICE SOME, PhD,
author of The Healing Wisdom of Africa and Of Water and Spirits

Our mission is to honor and embody the mysterium tremendum – found in the wild of creative imagination as well as the wild sea and redwood forest. Say yes to the wild untameable mysteries of inner and outer nature.
We say no to all tamed ways that claim to hold spiritual life. Let us move from:
- Tame spirituality to wild spirit
Practiced practice to un-rehearsed presence - Tame religiosity to wild religion
Confessed belief to uncontested experience - Tame shamanism to wild shaman
Fantasy trance to awakened ecstasy - Tame knowing to wild unknowing
Controlled understanding to mindless awe - Tame wild to wildest wild
New (and old) age clichés to ageless creative expression
We honor the oldest ancestors, the oldest ways, and the timeless traditions.
We are all indigenous and all indigenous ways are in need of being shaken.
We are all part of many traditions and all traditions are in need of being shaken.
We cannot say it. It must be shaken and freed.
We cannot shake. We must be shaken.
It is not about shaking. It is about love.
It is not about saying it is about love. It is about loving.
It is not about pointing a finger at another. It is about shaking others.
It is not limited to human beings, but includes all that is known and unknown.
It is not limited to rationality, common sense, meaningful symbol, choreographed dance, or melodic music. It includes the irrational, nonsense, unrecognizable image, unschooled movement, and radical noise.
It is not about consciously willing what we are supposed to do, no matter how good and noble the cause. It is about being pulled to perform the natural and most appropriate action. Pulled by what? Being pulled and moved to act by a mind greater than our limited ways of knowing. What mind? We shall be moved by the mind of infinite mystery rather than the mind of limited knowing.
Let us shake up the ways we shake, change the ways we change, and transform all transforming.
Let us embody the marriage of opposites!
Let us celebrate God as a rhythm rather than as a word!
Let us sound the convolutions!
Let us be awakened by the shaking truths of the mysterium tremendum!
